S HOTEL JAMAICA - NEW RESORT LAUNCH

While the resort town of Montego Bay had its heyday in the 1960s, the past 20 years saw it overrun with massive, all-inclusive hotels, and while jobs were of course increased in the region, it provided little benefit to local businesses and the aesthetic of the region was suffering. Local entrepreneur Chris Issa decided to do something about it, and AMPR followed with a concise strategy.

Following Issa’s successful city hotel—Spanish Court—in Jamaica’s capital of Kingston, S Hotel Jamaica opened as South Beach Miami-style resort catering to a weekender crowd looking for an alternative to Miami or another short getaway, given the property’s five- minute drive from the airport. Through a concise media outreach and social media campaign, AMPR established S Hotel as pioneers of the new Montego Bay.
